Bruce Lockwood has over 30 years of experience in emergency management working in Connecticut as a Fire Marshal in Canton and Emergency Response Coordinator for the Burlington Health District. Currently he serves as the Deputy Director of Emergency Management for the town of New Hartford. A founding member and first President of the Connecticut Emergency Management Association, he also co-chairs the Connecticut Emergency Preparedness Committee, and Early Childhood and Daycare Preparedness and serves on subcommittees for the Public Health Preparedness Advisory Committee for the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
Certified in Emergency Management, Mr. Lockwood previously served two terms as the President of U.S. Region 1 and is the current 2nd Vice President of the U.S. Council of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). Appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the National Commission on Children in Disasters in 2007, Mr. Lockwood has served as a subject matter expert in the development of courses and planning guides for the management of children in disasters.
